Morkies have barking in the blood – half Yorkie and half Maltese
Morkies were born to bark – half Yorkie (BIG barkers) and half Maltese, Morkies have barking in their blood. But I found a fast, easy and almost free way to control crazy barking.
It doesn’t hurt or traumatize the dog, and it really worked…. for me anyway! Try it yourself and let me know how it goes.
Goal: interrupt the behavior around barking
All I do is give my dog a little squirt from a small water gun – nothing excessive. It gets her attention, and she stops mad barking.
A quick squirt can interrupt your dog’s behavior long enough that he stops barking.
At the same time, I say firmly (but not angrily) NO BARK.
She quickly learned the NO BARK command and all I have to do now is SHOW the water gun!
You can pick up a bunch of cheap water guns at the dollar store and keep them all over the house. Very handy and for me at least, very effective.

tried this to no avail…………….I end up going back into the house once he starts his barking………………..most difficult late at night for last potty run……………… barking and if he could get loose he would chase cars……………………… luv him but really frustrating………………don’t want to use a bark collar; but don’t know what else to do.

Sorry to hear that your baby is a barker! It certainly CAN be frustrating. Two suggestions – more exercise if possible. Any way you can add 20 minutes of brisk walking a day to your routine? I’ve seen so many dogs change all sorts of unwanted behaviour with this one simple step. If that doesn’t work, what about trying a Citronella collar? It’s bark collar but works by spritzing a little citronella in the air. Like mosquitos, dogs hate it. Less invasive than the shocks given in the traditional bark collar.

I have a morkie and I’ve tried all these things to wear I’m now have a bark collar on her but it doesn’t some time work’s either when she gets into her excessive barking. Help help !!
My morkie and my shitzu/Yorker lately have been attacking each other and fighting aggressively-it’s very upsetting for my daughter and I-I don’t know whats causing this behavior I’ve tried separating them. Most of the time, they are like best of friends-my shitzu is 11 yrs old-my morkie is one year old-any suggestions? I sure could use some help in this area ! Thanks in advance!
I will try this === I love this little guy but the barking is incessant the minute I take him out.

This unfortunately wouldn’t work with my Morkie — he jumps up and tries to catch the water whenever he is sprinkled or sprayed with it ?
