Tomorrow’s Father’s Day and you’ve probably seen the cards too.  To Dad from the dog.

More households in the U.S.A. and Canada have dogs than have kids.  According to research from the U.S. Census Bureaufour out of five (81%) dog owners in America see their dogs as equal members of the household.

This isn’t all good news.  Like us, dogs are getting fatter and fatter, and more unhealthy. In fact, at least 68% of people and 55% of dogs in Canada and the U.S. are clinically obese.

With that diagnosis, comes heart disease, high blood pressure, respiratory problems, arthritis, diabetes and more.

So instead of making dogs more like us this Father’s Day, maybe we should make ourselves more like dogs… you know, go out for a walk, stretch, get lots of rest and water. Enjoy life!

Happy Father’s Day (from the dog.)
